One thing of which there is even smaller supply than of seasons-friendly plants is seasons-friendly neighbourhood deco plants. In fact I don't know of any that changes colours rather than just collect snow - if any of you do, I'd love a link.
I am bringing you two tall poplar trees, the kind commonly seen along country roads in my country. They correctly change with the seasons, even having some litter in the autumn.
The mesh size is a whopping 32 faces and 82 vertices, so they won't be a strain on the computer even in large numbers. The textures are also small. I would't put them right next to Sim houses, but they look OK from a bit farther.
They are found in the
Landmarks section of the 'hood deco catalogue to prevent them from fading. They also have their own registered GUID, and are placeable anywhere.
