Folk Art Coordinates
« on: January 16, 2012, 12:51:58 AM »
Often when I decide to make something, it just keeps expanding beyond what I meant to do; like when I started recoloring this set for a contest at Black Pearl (which I missed the deadline for, as usual  :blush). I did not have much for my game in this style, so since I had these lovely textures, I made the usual coordinate stuff. Shown using Jonesi-blanket repo meshes. Most meshes may be found HERE if you need them, but you may already have them as I recolor the same things over and over...  SimCredible bedcover mesh must be gotten at link.

The walls (which I will be using constantly) are by StephSim from her mega pack 2!

bedding
20 Jonesi blankets
1 HugeLunatic-SunniSims bed ruffle
3 Holy Simoly Simply Elegant Curtains (You'll really want HL-Ambular's add-on set as well!)
1 Holy Simoly LaBoheme valance (you should get gayle_afcb's single version too)
Sherry's West Elm Pillows from Sims Cave
Jope's blanket from SimplyStyling Bedroom 10
1 Mango-Sims Nestor Bedroom bed pillow
SIMcredible's CallingStars bedcover

They are Helle's jonesi-match version. Helle has done wonders for my game with all her lovely repo options  :wub

I've been admiring this set. It's so charming. It's ecclectic, yet quite perfect really. I especially like the bed quilt, the artwork and the curtain texture!

Your sets are so inspirational because of how you pull the rooms together. I can imagine building a whole house around this style! A quaint modern country cottage! :)  I can see it in my mind.  But...I'm trying to maintain discipline and finish my medieval lots once and for all! I suspect when the last Gwrych lot is complete, I shall have many points of inspiration, such as from this set! Thank you for sharing amythestfenix.

P.S. - You'd giggle to know I didn't even recognize the walls initially! Thanks for giving them such a lovely room to be a part of! :love

Thank you all for the kind comments!

Steph, if you like this style and want more things to add to a country cottage, my work on this is inspired by Betsy4Arts. You've probably seen her work at Black Pearl and she has her own site as well. One of the best things about the sims community is how we can all be inspired by everyone else  :love

I've never seen Betsy4Arts website before. I've only a few things in my personal archives by her. So, thank you for the link! As you said, definitely another place to draw inspiration! Thanx!
