Harvestable Tropical Trees
« on: February 14, 2011, 12:32:23 AM »
These are the three exotic fruit trees extracted by Pescado at MATY from Castaway Stories : banana, papaya and coconut. They came with the ability for sims to pick and eat fruit from the trees.

XPTL added the ability to gather fruit that could be put in the fridge or sold, here. Unfortunately his 'fruits' were cloned from fish and instead of adding food points to the fridge, enabled the cooking of fish meals.

I've changed this last aspect using clones of the harvestable apple extracted from the game by HopeBayler at PCSims (now in the graveyard). Now sims can gather fruits and use them to stock the fridge, increasing the 'fresh food' points in the fridge. (The fruits can also be stocked into the juicer, but no juice can be produced from them.) The fruits are also sellable in an OfB shop.
I'm pretty sure this requires Seasons.
The trees and the fruits are found in Build/Gardening. The food points for each fruit, their catalogue and OfB sale price, the frequency of harvest, as well as the price of trees are customised so that they match and make sense (to me, at least - they are exotic fruits and hence more expensive).
All 5 files in the .ZIP are necessary for the object to work. The fruits have their own GUIDs but the trees do not - if you have Pescado's or XPTL's version, the last one to load will appear in game.
Thanks to all the creators who worked on this before - I could not have done it all my by myself.

Thank you so much Gwenke! I've been following your progress on this at Insim, and I'm so glad you got it figured out.

Hi Gwenke! I left messages for you and as I didn't get any answer, I suppose you've been busy with something else. Your mod replaces mine and I would like to declare mine as Old Stuff that has better upgrading. I would like to know how to transfer possible users to download your version instead of mine, but I don't want just a note in the old thread. As I said there, threads become old and sometimes get several pages that not everybody have patience to read. I got one of the trees isolated by itself but my work is still unfinished. I got problems and had to stop. Anyway, I self replaced my mod by yours and any further work will be taken your mod as base. If you don't get the reason, when one of my works becomes old and obsolete, I declare it publically as obsolete and reuse my own GUIDs for new objects. It is easier for me to identify all xptl works because we took possession of all GUIDs starting with 002AE and 003BD and would like to continue so. Old people use to have bad memory  :D
Thanks.

I have now replied in the other thread as well, sorry. The easiest way would be to put a link in your original post to this version, and possibly remove the attachment if you don't want people to download the old version.

Gwenke--thank you for these!  one question:  do i need to remove the cs_harvesttreeGetsRealHarvest.package from MATY from and use yours instead?

Yes, remove the older ones from MATY. Mine have the same GUID, so the last one to load would appear in game.
