Are these sets suitable for the Repos. Technique
« on: October 19, 2014, 10:44:47 PM »
I do not know what to look for to determine if a set is suitable for the repository technique. I read something about re-mapping ... scary   tehehe
Now I wonder about these sets, are they straightforward or if something else is required.

Mapat, to give a quick and easy explanation: to use the repository technique on objects without re-mapping, they need to already have TXTRs that are identical. So if you open each object in SimPE and look at the TXTR, objects with identical TXTRs can be slaved.

Shoukeir's Reverie Office set has this- so I slaved that set for you while I was checking it out.  The desk is the master. My computer won't run the game right now because it's dying (no directX because the video card is dead, other problems too), so I can't look at it in game or post pics, but you can get it here and let me know if it works:

DL

The Granada Kitchen already has all parts slaved that can be without re-mapping, and I'd guess that the Dita Dining does too, since it is already partially slaved as well. I'll check out the others as I can- I can only work at the computer for an hour or so at a time before my back makes me stop, so I'm not as productive as I used to be :)

Y'all!?! I'm so sorry to hear Mapat is in the hospital and I'm so sorry to hear that Kate's back pain is so bad right now. I also didn't know your computer was broken either?

So I'm sending hugs to both of you (except Kate's hug will be gentle)   :hug

I'll look at some of the other sets too  :flowers

Mapat? Are you wanting to do them yourself as a learning thing? or would you just like them?

I'm ok with doing them for you if you like.

Okay kiri, let's team-repository!
I can do the ivy and ats bathroom and whatever might work in macarossi's windows if you want to do anything from the 3 shoukeir sets? Or vice versa? Or Kiri you might be off doing all of them and won't see this until it's done  :blush

that works for me Shasta!

I've had a look at Granada. It's repo-ed almost as much as it can be without re-mapping....
But I've had a look and I think I can do some extra, and with a small re-map can get almost all of it down to recolouring just 3-4 things.

depending on what Tis and Dita are like - I might add in some extra slots as well.

I've had a look at Tis now. It's not actually repo-able in its' current state.
However, if I strip off the deco, and replace it with slots, it will be.
I'll include the deco as well to be able to be placed in the slots.
This will take a little while.

Dita is imminently repo-able with remapping. And will do this first.

Regarding Kelly - This one has been on my list for a while. I'm also going to attempt to do a matching crib and change table.

Kate's done Reverie - and I'll take a matching picture for her. :)

Dita Dining is done. Just testing it, and will do some recolours to make sure they take. :)

DITA DINING by Sims2Play

Step 1: Remove all your Sims2Play meshes AND recolours from Sims2Play. To make it easier I've stuck it all in the one rar.
Step 2: If you have recolours of Dita Dining from elsewhere than Sims2Play - keep the recolours of
  • Cupboard,
  • Chair (fabric only)
  • Mirror
  • Lights.
It won't hurt any if you leave the others in - it just takes up space for no reason, is all.
Step 3: Install new Dita Dining with extra repositoried goodness! from here

What you will get.

1. everything I've changed has a MAS- on the front. I've changed the old masters into slaves, and I've changed the slaves to point to the cupboard. I've changed the other non-slaved stuffs that had wood to point to the cupboard. They also point to the cupboard for the chrome.
2. I've also included the lights and mirrors that are unchanged as they need their own textures.
3. 4 Recolours of the Cupboard to prove that recolours work - Wood textures from Kate - Cherry, White, Black (I figured that Shoukeir's textures are close enough to the Light, medium, Dark AL woods). And the matching glass texture for the shelves.
Note - I'd probably only use the glass for the shelves. It looks interesting on the others. I've included a picture for comparison.

Other things -
the shelves are not shiftable - they were cloned from a table. If I was to make them shiftable, I would have to put them on a different base.

To recolour the whole set -
Colour the Cupboard - wood and bowls,
Chair - just the fabric.
Mirror.
Lights are not recolourable.
