This is the colonial fireplace from TS3 converted to TS2.

The fireplace and the mirror are separate! And sadly you will have to use the moveobjects cheat to place the mirror. I didn't feel it worth adding the global mirror BHAVs to this object just to get it to place without cheats.
Fireplace does work, I forgot to take a pic of it because this lot is empty.
Installation:
Scriptorium
- Put the text file in C:\Users\UserName\Documents\EA Games\The Sims 2\Downloads\Scriptorium_Fireplaces
No Scriptorium
- Append the contents of the text file to the C:\Program Files (x86)\EA GAMES\The Sims 2\TSData\Res\Catalog\Scripts\fireplaces.txt file

If you would like to recolor, here is the UV Map plus the multiplier from TS3 that I use to help with shading.

:blush :dunno
I do not follow completely what to do with this, it will be the first time that I will install files where I have to add text.
Will someone explain it to me?

Do you use the Scriptorium by Numenor? If so you will have a Scriptorium_Fireplaces folder in your downlaods folder, just put the text file in the zip in that folder.

Other wise open the text file in Notepad where I showed the path above, copy the contents of the text file in the zip, paste in the fireplaces.txt file after the text that is there. Then save.

I had to make mine fireplace 69 instead of 68, since I have the "Trend" fireplace by someone, that already uses number 68. People should know that they can't have two fireplaces with the same number, but not everybody knows that and not everybody knows that just changing the number doesn't hurt anything.
-
LoL I pick a random number and it conflicts with someone elses! Thanks for the info Kate. :)
-
Thank you so much, Lunie. I will go get the necessary file.
Looking forward to having the fireplace in my game!
