I know this is probably really lame... but can someone make that Uni phone base game compatible please?  I hate the regular EA/Maxis phone - so ugly.  The FT phones are ok and I use that alot but I really want that Uni phone, I've wanted it from the day I saw it.  Is it possible?  If not just bin this request :)  Thanking you in advance for the help.

Do you mean the Pets phone?  The one that is metal and modern looking? :)


eta:  I only use this phone, the base game one is stupid looking, but I also think the FT one is stupid too. :p

I did a complete clone, they contain all the same internal filenames and GUIDs as the one from the game.  That way if you use it in a lot and share it, it should show up for someone with Pets, but it also shouldn't package with the lot.  And if you stick it in your bins folder it also won't have the *. 

Please test it, I have no machine without Pets to test this on, but I set all flags for base game.

I was told that was a Uni phone and had to buy the EP to get it.  I'll let you know how it comes out.

That's the phone I want!!!   But it doesn't work.  I can place it but as soon as I go into live mode it disappears.

Cool.  ok, will look into it tomorrow after class.  There was a bug with the FT phone similar to that.  I will check MTS.

I hope you can make it work, if not no biggie I've lived without it for a long time.  I just wish EA would make good looking phones.  The FT ones are alright.. at least better looking than base game.  I've tried CC phones but they don't work very well so I've pitched them all out.

The disappearing phone for FT was fixed in the CEP.  Not sure yet what was fixed.  An option might be to try putting *this* phone in yours bins and then reinstalling the CEP.  Yes I know it's a different EP, but it takes nothing to install the CEP and doesn't change anything with your game configuration.  Still looking to find out the issue. :)

OK will reinstall the CEP.  That's easy.  When you say put this phone in the bins... what does that mean exactly?

That is my location.  Replace the M&G part with your latest EP, and your Program Files may not have the (X86).

I updated the file above, I have no idea if this will help with your disappearing problem, but I found out I needed to add the handset as well.

I have a pc with just NL installed and for me it won't place.  No idea why.

Hot damn I was hoping it would work for you.  Mostly because then if you use it in a shared lot it will show up for anyone with Pets.  But also cause recolors will show up!
