Make phoenix phaerie's MH garden meshes recolorable?
« on: October 23, 2011, 04:10:30 AM »

I have this dream of recoloring these meshes with textures by Aviolina at GoS, but alas, they are not recolorable. Phoenix
slaved them to the Boxy Lady, which has been deemed NOT RECOLORABLE by CEP. (Yes, in red bold letters!)
And this really makes me a sad changeling. I love the work that Gwenke's been doing lately with the trees, and these would
be so perfect for my tamed wilderness outside of my manors. I have tried to reclone these myself, but when I do this the GMDC
and the GMND disappear? The only tutorials I've found to make objects recolorable is one by HugeLunatic and IgnorantBliss, but those
don't address my issues. It's probably a lot to ask for, but almost the entire set would have to be recoloned from other meshes
and (possibly) slaved to something else?

Also, you can download the meshes HERE!
That might help to complete this!

Thanks for reading all of that! :P

I've already talked to changeling on this over on MTS, but I thought I might put this out there for all the other creators, that I'm taking on this project, just so we don't have more than one person doing the same thing.

Oh, that's great. I was considering it but don't really have time at the moment. Would you consider making them seasons-compatible? I think I can put together a template if necessary.

I'd like to point out that last time I looked, PhoenixPhaerie's policy didn't allow altering/cloning of her meshes.  Which means you won't be able to upload any of it to MTS.

And I guess, which aspect of this are you working on Violet?  I already have the boxy lady recolorable, just working on a few other plants as well before I upload it.  Are PhoenixPhaeries already set to be recolorable and are just dependent on the boxy lady being recolorable?

Oh! Well, ahahah! I really need to start looking at these things. (Ha, that sounds bad!)

I sent phoenix a message at MTS, asking for permission. Hopefully she'll get back soon, although she hasn't signed in for over a year now.

...or someone could just make the Boxy Lady recolorable? :B

Seasons-compatible would be awesome! I hope Violet doesn't mind saying that everything's been slaved to another mesh, and are ready to be recolored that way! If Phoenix doesn't want her meshes altered, maybe just upload the Boxy Lady edit instead? :)

PP wrote in her journal two years ago that she was taking a one-year break from creating. As she has not returned since, I doubt she will. So you will not be able to upload to MTS.

Whether or not her garden bushes are automatically recolourable once the boxy lady is recolourable (Lunie, could you check that?), I'm sure that they would need to be re-cloned to make them seasons compatible.

All of the manor house shrubs that are slaved to the boxy lady do take the recolors, so they seem to already be set with the proper bits in the package to be recolorable.  They are all cloned from deco items though, so no seasons or overgrown states.

I am still working on the seasons aspect of the boxy lady, as well as trying to find why they revert to default color after being trimmed.
