Neat, nifty and downloaded. I'm wondering though- are there any recolors?

mlc, I was going to but I realized it mirrors itself - yuck! Hours looking for images that still look like party banners when mirrored?

  I could've sworn I'd seen at least 1 recolor. *hunts* Aha- this says the banner recolored is from the party pack: http://www.coloursims.missingstudios.com/index.php/topic,2862.msg19963.html#msg19963 but it doesn't look like the same mesh?

Maybe Simcredible's Easter2007 Banner (listed as an included mesh) was cloned from the party banner so that's why css is required?

So, I downloaded those recolors. The Simcredible banner was recolored but so was this one. And I see what you mean about the mirroring- it's in roughly 3rds, with the 3rd part mirrored from the 1st part. If you've given up on it, I might put recolors on my "want to do and might if I actually remember and get around to it" list. (Yes, I have such a list. Why do you doubt it?!?) Especially since I didn't keep the downloaded recolors.

editing because I was right the first time, lol- it didn't help that the actual texture is reversed. Silly Maxis.

and another edit: I've worked out a template. If you'd like it you (anyone!) can have it. (Just need to clean up the layers and also see what it looks like in the game..not that this would be a final recolor.)

I took out the shadow layer I made because I fudged it up. You know how you fudge something up so bad that all the undo's in the world won't save it? Yeah, that's how bad it was. *sigh* So there are no shadows and any recolors made could really use them so they won't be all flat. I'm trying to remake the shadows but seem to be more interested in eating popcorn and pretending to watch The King of Queens while fartsing around on the internet.

Anyways- top 2 layers shows how a full banner pattern should be set up. Next 2 layers show how to set up text in the middle of the banner with a repeated graphic on either side. The blue and green layer with text on it- you can ignore that one, I forgot to delete it.

(And nope.. shoes were more important since mine were a bit more air conditioned than they should be. I've got *2 hooked up and alternate between them when one decides to not work right. Stupid mice. Grrrr.)

Santa and I have some work to do, lol. I just grabbed him to plop him on a test recolor- but I do have plans for him. If you want the shadows, I updated the layers. (Link is still the same.) The are 2 shadow layers cuz I tend to play around with them depending on how light/dark the texture under them is. So 1 is a bit lighter than the other.

And by "you", I of course mean anyone.  It should be pretty easy to make decent recolors of this banner now.. and I expect to see hundreds of them by the week's end!!

Well, that AND the fact that the mapping is so stupid which makes recoloring a headache. I don't like it when things are difficult to do and consider it a challenge..

not really, just too much time on my hands and not much to do/can be done lately

I recoloured this banner - and it IS mapped in a sucky way. But still - good effects can be had from it.
