ScaryRob's Lot Uploads to Sims File Share
« on: November 29, 2018, 11:24:27 pm »
I've finally gotten off my lazy duff and started uploading my Lots to Sims File Share. Those of you who may have downloaded some of my stuff off MTS a few years ago, I can tell you that I've updated just about every Lot, many of them substantially and some of them drastically.

Here's the link to all my Lots: https://simfileshare.net/folder/61276/

Most of my Lots tend toward a contemporary/modern style. I carefully furnish just about all of my houses, but do so only as a suggestion and to make sure that the layout is playable with Maxis furniture. I entirely expect and indeed encourage players to replace the Maxis furniture with better-looking and in many cases more functional custom furniture of their own choosing. I'm a Sims Lot builder, not a Sims interior decorator. In fact, I don't particularly enjoy interior decorating.

All my Lots are tested, functional and have never been occupied by any Sims.
I package all my Lots using Mootilda's Clean Installer.

Being mainly a Lot builder I don't have much custom content in my game. I limit myself to a relatively few build objects or sets that have the most dramatic aesthetic and/or functional effect. A substantial number of my Lots that do have custom content, only use Numenor's CEP Color Enable Package.

I have only a small handful of mods in my game, compared to most people still playing this game, including mostly things that I need to concern myself with as a Lot builder, such as the mod that prevents Sims from using garage doors as entrances, a "perfect plants" mod that prevents them from having to be trimmed (one of Maxis' truly dumber ideas, in my opinion), a mod that prevents doors from sticking open due to overhead lights and nearby wall-mounted objects, rotatable driveway and garage door mods, Pescado's apartment hack package that allows the renting of furnished apartments, a mod that allows Sims to watch TV from different angles, and a few "Scriptorium" scripts, including one for placing custom stairs.

I have all TS2 Expansions and Stuff Packs and I don't keep track of which objects come from which EP or SP in any given Lot.

I will include relevant pictures and a README notepad file with every upload.

Here are the first few uploads. All are cc-free, except the last one which requires the CEP mod:

Container#06-2BR

Ranch#01-3BR

Brutalist#01Apts-4Apts
Updated: Minor changes to layout, mostly in the first floor common area.

Brutalist#02Apts-5Apts
Updated: Minor changes to layout, mostly in the first floor common area.

ElDoradoCourtApts-10Apts
Updated: Major layout changes. Added a half bedroom to five of the apartments. This means five apartments are now 1 bedroom, while five are 1.5 bedroom. No changes to common area. Pix updated.

Brownstone#01Apts-8Apts

Brownstone#02Apts-10Apts

Brownstone#03Apts-3Apts

Columbarium#01-96Spaces; shelf space for 96 deceased Sims (urns)

3T2#03-1BR; a conversion of a small Sims 3 Lot to Sims 2; includes starter and fully furnished versions

MellowYellowStarter-1+BR; was originally a one-bedroom, but I added a half-bedroom, as well as a couple of lesser items. This is one of several circular-shaped houses I've made.
Update: I have added a new roof. Pics updated.

These next three are rebuilds of other creators' Lots. Credits and links are given in the attached READMEs. They are of course built from scratch on new lots.
It is the last of these that requires the CEP mod.

ReduxBGTears-1+BR: A full-game rebuild of a base-game build by QBUILDERZ. CC-free.
Update 27Jun19: Relocated driveway, added some landscaping.

ReduxLookingGlass-1+BR: A rebuild of a pretty little Victorian by lidiqnata. CC-free.

ReduxModernVilla-2BR : A rebuild of one of the prettiest Lots, originally by MaORiLiCioUs7. It uses 1 cc mod:
1) (Numenor) The "CEP" - Color Enable Package v. 9.2.0 - 15 MAY 2009: http://www.modthesims.info/d/92541/the-quot-cep-quot-color-enable-package-v-9-2-0-15-may-2009.html

That's it for now. I'll be uploading many more in the weeks and months to come, and I will add them here to this thread.

Added three more Lots. Two of them are conversions of Sims 3 lots. Credits to the original builders are in the READMEs.

Link: https://simfileshare.net/folder/61276/

I just added six more Lot uploads: https://simfileshare.net/folder/61276/
Two of these are CC-free, although the invisible driveway recolor is optional, and the other four only require Numenor's Color Enable Package.

Brutalist#01-2Br: A modern/pre-fabricated house in the Brutalist style.
Optional CC, which a player can download and install, if desired:
(roddyaleixo) Invisible Driveway & Extensions: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=90875
UPDATE NOTICE: As of 28 April, I made some major changes to the landscaping, which will make this Lot fit better into surrounding neighborhoods. I also made some minor aesthetic changes. Pics and README have been updated.

I just uploaded three more Lots to my SimFileShare page: https://simfileshare.net/folder/61276/

Townhouse#01-3BR: A townhouse, converted from an old factory. Original Lot design by gagafanu: http://www.modthesims.info/showthread.php?goto=lastpost&t=515305
This is an oddly-shaped townhouse, which nevertheless turned out great. The original design is by gagafanu, at MTS, although he no longer has his version uploaded there.
The house features three bedrooms, all with ensuite full baths, an additional half-bath, a playroom/nursery, several gardening plots and even an indoor swimming pool in the basement. That's a lot of house considering the tiny 10x20 lot size. All of it tested and perfectly functional of course, as always. There are some changes from the upload I had on MTS previously.
It includes only one CC object, the tall cypress trees, which can be substituted with some Maxis trees, although they do fit very well with this house:
(xrax) Mediterranean (Italian) Cypress: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=122751

Desert#01Starter-1BR: An adobe-style desert starter home.
The second of my uploads today is an adobe-style desert starter house. I've changed a couple of minor things since the time I had this uploaded to MTS a few years ago. The Lot features several harvestable prickly pear cacti.
I did use the optional invisible driveway recolor, which doesn't package with the Lot, so you'll have to download and install that yourself if you want it as shown in the picture. If not, you'll just get the regular Maxis concrete driveway:
(roddyaleixo) Invisible Driveway & Extensions: http://www.modthesims.info/download.php?t=90875

Desert#02-2BR: A contemporary-styled desert house.
My final upload for today is one of my more recent builds, a two-bedroom desert contemporary. This has never before been uploaded anywhere else. Aside from the two bedrooms, it features two terraces, two fruit trees, several prickly pear cacti and beautiful landscaping. As with a number of my other Lots, the only CC used is Numenor's CEP package:
(Numenor) The "CEP" - Color Enable Package v. 9.2.0 - 15 MAY 2009: http://www.modthesims.info/d/92541/the-quot-cep-quot-color-enable-package-v-9-2-0-15-may-2009.html

That's it for today. Many more to come in the near future. Thanks, and enjoy.

Two more Lots uploaded: https://simfileshare.net/folder/61276/

Contemporary#01-2BR was the first Lot I made after getting back into The Sims 2, back in 2012. That early version, which I had uploaded on MTS a few years ago, had a routing problem on the second floor. I have fixed this and have made the second floor roomier in the process. It's amazing how much space is created just by removing one large closet. This now seems to play very nicely. Aside from the two bedrooms and nursery upstairs, there is a fairly large, unfurnished, sunlit basement for players to use as needed. This Lot also features a fenced-in driveway, the easy tutorial for which is linked in the README.
The only CC is Numenor's CEP package:
(Numenor) The "CEP" - Color Enable Package v. 9.2.0 - 15 MAY 2009: http://www.modthesims.info/d/92541/the-quot-cep-quot-color-enable-package-v-9-2-0-15-may-2009.html

Contemporary#02Starter-1BR is another early Lot I made in 2012, recolored and somewhat redone. It has a sunken living room, driveway, and fishable pond, aside from the usual basic necessities. Actually, as a matter of personal interest to me, this design is a mirror of one I first made way back in 2004-05, when I was uploading stuff to the Exchange, although I don't think that version was a starter. Wow, 15 years ago. It is CC -free:

I have made major updates to two of my previously posted Lots, from 25 March, uptopic. The Lots in question are Brutalist#01-2BR and Brutalist#02-3BR. The updates, mostly dealing with the landscaping, should make these two Lots fit better into neighborhoods.

Three more uploads today, all circular-shaped houses. Here's the link: https://simfileshare.net/folder/61276/

Contemporary#07-5BR is a large, circular-shaped house. Two large bedrooms upstairs, both with ensuites, one with a nursery. Three more bedrooms in the sunlit basement, one furnished as an office, one unfurnished. Swimming pool, wrap-around terrace, garage with additional space, more. I've substantially modified the master suite from previous versions, as well as possibly the basement layout (don't remember previous versions). No CC.
Updated: I put a new roof style on the garage for this house. Just an aesthetic change, nothing functional. Pix show the new roof.
Updated: I put a new roof on the house as well. Pics have been updated.

Contemporary#08-2BR is another circular-shaped house. Sunlit basement to use as needed, swimming pool, barbecue deck, greenhouse and two fruit trees. No CC.
Updated: I put a new roof on the house. Pics have been updated.

The third upload for today is Roundhouse-2BR, a Lot inspired by and loosely based on a real-life house, the so-called Round House, in Connecticut. The real one rotates (check out some of the cool videos on YouTube), which this Sims 2 version obviously can't. Elevator, swimming pool and fishable pond are only some of the features. I've simplified and improved the bedrooms and bathrooms from versions previously uploaded to MTS. The only CC is Numenor's CEP: (Numenor) The "CEP" - Color Enable Package v. 9.2.0 - 15 MAY 2009: http://www.modthesims.info/d/92541/the-quot-cep-quot-color-enable-package-v-9-2-0-15-may-2009.html
Updated: For that one person who downloaded it since yesterday, you might want to download it again because I just updated it by giving it a different roof style. Nothing functional, just aesthetic and a slight price increase for the Lot. Pix show the new roof.
Updated: Another roof change, and a few other minor aesthetic changes. Pix updated.
