FAO Riverwillows - shower curtain
« on: September 28, 2010, 11:32:11 AM »
Can't find your request  :dunno  Anyway it intrigued me to see if it could be done!  I've done a draught 1 tile version to see if it was the sort of thing you are looking for.  I cloned Inge Jones auto drapes as allowed by her generous policy.  At the moment you need to use the move objects on cheat to place them but if I am on the right track I will change that.  When first placed you get 2 options - to keep them open or keep them closed, once that is set you then also have the option for leaving them auto but that means they close at 7pm and open at 7am.  My bhav knowledge is not good enough to work out how to change that!!  I will study the shower package and see if I can make them work as the shower curtain does on the shower unit but I think to do that I would have to make shower fittings and do it as a complete shower unit as opposed to a stand alone curtain, which is from memory what you wanted.  :))

Let me know if these are on the right tack and if so I'll tidy them up, change the placement so you don't need the cheat and add a 2 tile version as well.  I've not done a diagonal but can do if you wanted that as well.  They recolour fine.

Very very lovely. I am definately going to work with it. I do notice that when closed, the pattern is flipped and reversed...so no way to put a solid pattern on I guess. But it will work very well with seamless patterns for sure.

Thanks Gayle!!    :love

Do let me know when they are fully ready, ok? Thanks again hon!!!!    :thumbup1

I'll fix the mapping when I make them proper River so it won't be flipped and reversed - I just knocked this together in about 10 mins to see if it was on the right track so instead of making the closed one properly I just duplicated the open one and placed them side by side on the mesh but they lay on top of each other in the map hence the flip and reverse.  I didn't want to spend hours if I was heading in the wrong direction!!  But the obvious seam down the middle was already driving me mad even if it was just a draught lol

Would you also like it set so that you can use more transparent textures as well?

It's an easy mesh to make so I'll have the proper mesh done tomorrow.  Couple of hours maybe in SimPE farting about with the placement and the footprint for the 2 tile version etc. They *should* unless anything goes horribly wrong be done within a couple of days  :))

Inge Jones made it very easy for me I have to say  :love

Ah, but I am in awe of you meshers. I can only give voice to an idea, you guys are able to make it come alive!!  hehe! :tt1

Yeah, Gayle, if you can have the option for transparency that would be great, if its not too much trouble! And fixing it so you can have a full pic, that'd be terrific.  :w00t

Ummmm (getting ready to bolt, lol)....any chance on making a 2 tile version, so's to go with bathtubs inset also?? If not no biggie, the one tile is more than good enough!!

Thanks so much for all your effort, Gayle!!     :likeit

The 1 tile is finished - just need to fix the footprint on the 2 tile  :))

I would have done it this weekend but having killed several computers over the last couple of years I keep all my sims creating stuff on an external hard drive and work from that and that way when I kill the next PC I don't lose everything yet again!

But then I left the external at work on Thursday and again on Friday  lol

Hehe, Yeah...sometimes its all I can do to keep my harddrive from going on strike with my textures album. I have over 10 gig in textures and pics by now. It's groaning, but still holding together. I want a laptop next, so I can sit outside and stuff to do things.

Sorry River still not finished the 2 tile but here is the 1 tile one for you at least.

You need move objects on to place them across the gap. I have fixed the mapping so that you can use a full pic:

and you can recolour them transparent:

When you open them to recolour them it doesn't show a texture it just says closed texture but just click ok and it loads it properly and you can then export the texture as normal.  I have labelled the mesh texture for you.

To do a transparent recolour all I did was make a new transparent layer, and lowered the opacity of the texture, I think the one shown was set to about 55/60%, then added the rail and rings as a new solid layer and deleted the original png which was of course the bottom layer.  I've put in the 2 recols so you can always export and use those pngs as guides or you can just bin them.

As it was made for you I'll not be releasing it anywhere (although obviously anyone can d/l it from this thread!) so just include the mesh with any recolours. (That goes for anyone else who d/l it from this thread, include the mesh with any recols for ease).  I will get the 2 tile done asap for you.  Figured you could have this to play with while waiting!!

Thank you so much Gayle!! It's really great and I will be using them on many future bathrooms, and re-tooling several current ones with them too!! Take your time on the 2 tile, I'm in no hurry. Thank you so much again!!!

You're welcome  :))

I was pleased  to fix the closed mapping in the end and getting rid of that awful seam down the middle that drove me nuts lol
