Ceiling
« on: May 14, 2009, 05:47:50 PM »

The image has much more depth in Photoshop, the game seems to flatten it.  I could possible look into adding a bump map, but that will only show for people's video cards capable of bumps.  Would it look better if I kept the original 512 and made a 4 tile?  Course I am not fond of those since you always end up with half it somewhere.

So?  I put this here cause Lis was *hinting* at one.  And I'm too lazy to find somewhere else. :)

OMG  :omg

This is so cool! Thank you Lunie!  :realbighug:

I know it means double the work, but a 4 tile as well would mean the possibility to use the smaller one to fill the gaps.... :yagami

This is really awesome though!

I can try a 4 tile, but not sure how they fit together.  Never done one before.  I swear it took me longer to get HCP installed and actually working than it did to make the file.

And it's not too much trouble because I have my layered psd file saved. :)  I have learned to keep working copies of stuff.

Right now I am checking out reflection settings.  Trying to get one to shine. :/

Just had a look in Simpe and you can open up a tile and edit the TXMT maybe thats the way to go?

Yep.  :)  Got a tutorial by pixelhate about what each is.  It applies to walls, but I am hoping it applies to ceilings.

you can edit a floor txmt in simpe?? so if you want shiny, it doesn't have to be with the resource gobbling reflective floor mirrors???  :O

can you post a link to that tutorial Lunie?? :))

Well it works with walls.  Don't know the limits on this.  But there was some talk in one of the private forums at MTS about this, those reflective floors require shaders.  I would like to adjust the shine in the file itself.  And Pixelhate has done this with overlays for walls.  I've been getting some weird results. :p  But I have also been experimenting with the build dxt options.  Right now I am forcing find edges, hoping to clarify the details.

:) Just AL I think.  I've not looked into how to do a base game one.  Technically it's a floor, cause all floors can be used as ceilings in AL.
